Casa Chiquita
Chaco Canyon, San Juan Basin, New Mexico

Unfortunately, at present, there is a dearth of material from this place. Arriving in Chaco from the north dirt road access on Monday afternoon, this was the first village encountered, but these photogs weren't taken until the next afternoon, October 30th.

This village contains fifty rooms and three kivas, originally standing two or three stories high. The period during which Casa Chiquita is believed to have been constructed, dubbed "The McElmo Phase" by western archeologists, runs between 1050 and 1154.
