American Humane Association Honors Congresswoman
McKinney for Support of Key Animal Issues

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The American Humane Association (AHA) announced
that it has awarded Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) with the
Humane Legislator of the Year award. AHA said that it chose Congresswoman
McKinney to receive this honor based on her support for important
animal issues before the 106th Congress.
"Representative McKinney is a true friend to animals. We’re glad
to present Congresswoman McKinney with a Humane Legislator of the
Year Award and for joining us in that fight. ," said Timothy M.
O’Brien, AHA’s President. "For 123 years, the American Humane Association
has worked to protect animals and children from abuse, cruelty and
neglect," stated McKinney.
