World Trade Center Statement

September 12, 2001

(WASHINGTON, DC) Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney expressed her profound shock and extreme sadness for the loss of so many innocent lives in the horrifying series of attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York and at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

"Americans are shocked and angered by such brutality on America's shores. Let us pray for the families of the victims and emergency workers killed and injured by this catastrophic and senseless act. We must ensure that these families get as much support as they need in the long and difficult days ahead. We must also ensure that our law enforcement authorities also get much support as they need in order that they can hunt down and capture those responsible for these great crimes." McKinney stated.
