Artistic Discovery 2000

DECATUR--Congresswoman
Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) is pleased to offer high school students
in the Fourth Congressional District the opportunity to compete
in the 2000 Congressional Arts Competition. Each year, Members of
the United States House of Representatives, committed to the greatness
of our cultural heritage, join together to recognize the creative
spirit of American's high school students in a nationwide art competition.
"An Artistic Discovery provides Members
of Congress and their constituents with the opportunity to recognize
this deep reservoir of talent," stated McKinney. The winning artist
and their family are invited to visit Washington, DC to see their
artwork which will be on display in the U.S. Capitol.
The opening of this year's exhibition will be held on Tuesday, June
20, 2000.
The deadline is May 8, 2000, for high
school students who want to enter their art work in this competition.
