April 5, 2000

DECATUR--Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) is pleased to offer high school students in the Fourth Congressional District the opportunity to compete in the 2000 Congressional Arts Competition. Each year, Members of the United States House of Representatives, committed to the greatness of our cultural heritage, join together to recognize the creative spirit of American's high school students in a nationwide art competition.

"An Artistic Discovery provides Members of Congress and their constituents with the opportunity to recognize this deep reservoir of talent," stated McKinney. The opening of this year's exhibition will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2000.

The deadline is May 8, 2000, for high school students who want to enter their art work in this competition. Please contact Charles Smallins in the Decatur District office at (404) 377-6900, to receive an entry packet.
