On January 31, 2000 I wrote a review of Professor John Newman’s 1995 book Oswald and the CIA, In my review I stated that in his book Newman sought to demonstrate there was no proof that Lee Harvey Oswald had been a CIA agent. I state in my review that Newman’s intelligence information on Oswald offered up in his book, proves Oswald was in fact a CIA agent.
Late in November of 1999 Professor Newman stated on the History Channel: “The idea of a high level institutional plot with the CIA to kill Kennedy is crazy.”
On March 22, 1978, in his testimony before the House Select Committee on the JFK assassination, James Wilcott states that Oswald was a U.S. intelligent agent.
In comparing my review of Professor Newman’s book and the testimony of James Wilcott before the House Select Committee I am confident the reader will be able to detect the vast difference in verity between a servile servant of the national security state and a courageous spokesman for the people and democracy.
I consider the testimony of James Wilcott before the House Select Committee and the support of it by his wife, Elsie, a brave and significant historical accomplishment. I think that John Newman’s work, in blocking courageous and significant efforts, tells us how profound are the U.S. government’s efforts to block the truth tellers such as the Wilcotts.
