“This is my friend, Sharon Venne (Cree Nation), and this is us [in 2013] at The Archives of the Indies in Seville, Spain. We were there with our friend Dr. Debra Harry (Pauite Nation) and I managed to talk our way into the Archives and get them to actually show us two of the original Vatican papal bulls. They are written on lamb-skin parchment which is interesting and they’re written in octopus ink, which is a permanent ink. In the Vatican papal bull it’s talking about establishing domination in perpetua, in Latin, which means ‘eternally’ or forever. When you flip that over, on the other side, it says ‘Ganaran y Conquistaron Las Indias’ which means ‘To Win and To Conquer [DOMINATE] the Indies’.”
