IN THIS REPORT: * NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT: BOYCOTT OF FRENCH GOODS CONTINUES BOYCOTT OF FRENCH GOODS In light of French President Chirac's decision to break France's nuclear testing moratorium, disarmament, environmental, religious and labor organizations internationally are supporting a boycott of French goods until France ceases testing. The first of France's new tests was conducted at the Moruroa Atoll in the South Pacific on September 5th. The intensity of international opposition to renewed testing has caused Chirac to consider reducing the number of planned tests, although there is no solid indication to date that any tests will be cancelled. To build pressure on the French government for the reinstatment of its three-year nuclear testing moratorium, Peace Action and colleague organizations have launched a boycott of French goods including Dannon yogurt, Bic pens and razors, Air France, L'Oreal products, Perrier, Evian and Volvic mineral water, and French wines. For more information on the boycott, call 862-9740 ext. 3004. President Chirac will be in New York City on October 23 and in Washington, DC on November 3.
