It is with great sadness and rage that we face one more corporate attempt for total control of life in the name of profit. On this occasion it is the World Trade Organization gathered in Seattle Washington to further pro-corporate liberalization and impose corporate managed trade rules on our food, agriculture, health, education, intellectual property and patents on life-forms.We, as children of our Mother Earth cannot allow this arrogance and insanity to continue degrading our air, water, land, trees and animals. We define the environment to be our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, playgrounds, and holy places that have been polluted by corporate greed.
We are the low-income, rural, people of color, Native peoples and workers who are disproportionately victimized by members of the World Trade Organization who want "free trade". This profit with our principles is directly responsible for significant increases in hazardous waste, birth defects, undrinkable water, air pollution and decreases in the resources devoted to enforcement of environmental, health and human rights protection laws.
We are here to inform the World Trade Organization that we will not tolerate more broken promises. That we cannot trust them with our health and safety, worker's rights and living wages, our environment and our natural heritage as well as with our democratic, accountable governance.
That we are here to join our brothers and sisters from all over the world in our determination and, resolve to end this exploitation.
